An unforgettable day with "Robin Hood"

Angel for a Day Toronto - November 2018

In support of the CFF and with its values in mind, myWorld Canada held an advanced screening of the Hollywood film “Robin Hood” and provided members of their community with an “experience you can’t buy” by letting them see the film before everyone else.

“Robin Hood”, a new action adventure film starring Jamie Foxx (Django Unchained), Taron Egerton (Kingsman) and Jamie Dornan (Fifty Shades of Grey) premiered in North America on 21st November.

The screening took place in Toronto on Saturday 17th November. Recently assimilated immigrant families and their children were invited by a local school to experience something with the myWorld Canada community, including some key local Marketers and staff, that they might not have experienced otherwise.

The day started at 10:30 am with an introductory talk about CFF and Angel for a Day. Then everyone was given a bag of popcorn and a small coke and watched the film. Afterwards all attendees were handed out gift bags, including a Mini Poster of Robin Hood, a Lyco Plush Toy and a CFF magazine.

The premiere, organised in partnership with Entertainment One and a local Toronto school, was a special experience for the families, allowing them to see the film before it came out in the cinemas.

“The film’s message is one of optimism and hope. It demonstrates the determination of a handful of well-intentioned people who will do whatever it takes to help their fellow citizens,” said James Malliaros, Managing Director of myWorld Canada. “This aligns well with CFF’s values: creating a better future for people and, in doing so, crossing cultural and ethnic boundaries. We are committed to supporting our local community. This is one small way for us to give back and, at the same time, provide a fun and positive experience for all.”

In the end, everyone got the opportunity to take commemorative photos together to round off this exciting and special day.

We would like to thank all those who made this day possible for the children and contributed to its success.
