Help for Ukraine!

The weeks following the outbreak of war in Ukraine were dominated by emergency aid for war refugees.

Together with strong partners such as the Graz-based association Eggenberger Vielfalt, the Bärnbach Health Centre and the Best Sleep Hotel in Spielberg, we were able to deliver 2000 kilograms of donations in kind such as food, clothing and medicines, to various relief centres. Immediately after the outbreak of the war, we brought relief supplies directly to the Ukrainian border, but as more and more people sought shelter in Austria, we focused our efforts on providing help around Graz.

Help at the Ukrainian border

Even before the international Ukraine-aid really got rolling, we collected donations in kind together with the Bärnbach Health Centre, which we then took directly to Przemysl in Poland on the border to Ukraine. We would like to take this opportunity to thank the many people who supported us with donations in kind and especially the residents of Bärnbach who spared no effort to support our aid campaign.

Ukraine aid from the Best Sleep Hotel in Spielberg

In Spielberg, Upper Styria, a private aid initiative was launched just a few hours after the news of the outbreak of the war hit the media. Tatiana Wascher, the owner and operator of the Best Sleep Hotel in Spielberg, immediately converted the premises of her hotel into a collection centre for donations in kind and began with full commitment to organise relief transports and other assistance for those affected. When the long-time supporter of our work contacted us, a cooperation began through which we were able to help hundreds of people with our combined efforts. Together with the Graz-based association Eggenberger Vielfalt, we collected donations in kind in the greater Graz area over several weeks, which we then took turns bringing to the collection centre at the Best Sleep Hotel. All in all, we were able to contribute several busloads of relief goods, which were then distributed from Spielberg.

Great willingness to help among the myWorld and Lyconet staff

A very special thank you to the employees of myWorld 360 AG, myWorld Austria and Lyconet! Together with the Eggenberger Vielfalt association, we started a fundraising campaign through our partners and the response of the employees was overwhelming. We were able to collect so many donations in kind that we were able to support 140 families housed in the Greenbox refugee shelters in Graz and in Leoben!
