An unforgettable MotoGP™ race for 25 children
On 11th August, 25 children housed at two Styrian social facilities, spent a marvelous day at the Red Bull Ring: Thanks to the Child & Family Foundation's commitment and the myWorld group of companies, they were able to experience the Austrian myWorld Motorcycle Grand Prix live and leave their everyday lives behind for a few hours.
The tickets for the race were made available by myWorld group of companies who were the title sponsors for the MotoGP™ Highlights in Spielberg for the first time. The international corporation has been committed to the Child & Family Foundation for years now, as part of its activities in the Corporate Social Responsibility sector. "The foundation's work with people in need is a cause which is very close to our hearts", emphasises myWorld Founder, Hubert Freidl. "Thus it was only natural that we wanted to be involved in the MotoGP™ campaign at the Red Bull Ring and make sure these children enjoyed the day."
25 children with race fever
Thanks to this collective effort, 25 children from two Styrian social facilities and their carers were able to take their seats in the myWorld stand in the Red Bull Ring on 11th August and watch the stars of the MotoGP™ scene work their magic. Not only that, there was also plenty going on track side. Visitors were able to explore the race grounds, enjoy the program of events on offer and take a peek inside the myWorld container. "These children have not had it easy due to their difficult pasts", added Nina Passegger, chairwoman to the Child & Family Foundation. "That's why we're pleased that they have been able to enjoy such an unforgettable MotoGP™ weekend and escape from their everyday lives for a change."
Children's Days Outs in Upper Austria and Styria
The aim of our other projects is to give disadvantaged and disabled children the chance to have a break from their everyday life. This was the purpose of the traditional children's flight days out which the foundation organises with the help of commited companies and private individuals. Thanks to these, children and teenagers with physical, psychological and communicational disabilities were able to experience a spectacular helicopter flight. On 24th August (in the event of bad weather, 25th August) the children's day out has been planned for Alberndorf in Riedmark, two weeks later, on 7th September (in the event of bad weather, 8th September), the helicopters will take off from Gnas, a municipality based in south-eastern Styria.
