On Friday 23 August 2024, the Centro Educativo Child & Family Foundation in La Ceiba, Honduras, celebrated its 12th anniversary with an event full of fun and entertainment.
The entire teaching and administrative team, all the students as well as their parents and friends came together for the occasion.
The programme ranged from modern dances such as the well-known ‘Waka Waka’ by Shakira to rock'n'roll and disco music from the 60s and 70s to traditional folklore dances from Honduras such as the cultural rhythm ‘La Punta’.
One of the highlights of this extraordinary day was the joint singing of ‘We Are the World’, which caused goose bumps and created an atmosphere of solidarity and cohesion among those present.
The celebration was a huge success, with all attendees enjoying every moment and sharing in the joy of this special anniversary.
Special thanks go to the founders Hubert Freidl and Doris Eggenberger, whose visionary ideas and innovative approaches laid the foundation for this educational project, which for 12 years has been giving many families hope for a better future.
Today, the project manager Barbara Sickenberger and our chairwoman Heidemarie Kipperer continue the project with great commitment in the spirit of the founders and ensure access to education for many generations to come.

In our projects, our main focus is on educational support, especially in our school projects. We believe that education is the pathway to empower people to build a better future for themselves.
Continuously supporting schools in their operation is just as well part of our work as is the construction and improvement of school infrastructure. Creating access to a secure educational environment free of charge in poor regions with comparatively high educational costs and inadequate public facilities is our goal.
