Last April 2024, our project manager, Alejandro, visited our CFF preschool, "Escuela para el Futuro," situated on the outskirts of the city of Leon, Mexico. Ninety socially disadvantaged children, aged 4 to 7, attend the three kindergarten grades in well-equipped classrooms built by the CFF in 2019. He had the opportunity to meet and greet the pupils during classes, at recreation time, and while having their snacks. He also chatted with the teachers and listened to their comments about the progress and needs of the children, the staff, and the building.
5 years since opening: Our school continues its excellent work!
After 5 years of existence and with more than 200 children having learned through these classrooms, some upgrades are required. Summer starts early in Mexico, from March till June, with temperatures ranging from 25 to 35 degrees Celsius, making ventilators or climate machines necessary. The playground, made of plastic and rubber, has already broken down. A new playground would greatly benefit the children. Additionally, bookshelves are in high demand since the ones provided 5 years ago are already broken or damaged.
Alejandro had talks with the director, Carolina, and discussed plans for the next year. Carolina presented the school in general as being very positive and well-kept. Pupils and their families are highly satisfied with the staff and the education their children receive.
