A cooperative project between the Lyoness Child & Family Foundation and the SRK Therapy Centre, Buchs

Project Description

As the early years are so important in a child’s development, it is important that problems or disabilities are identified as soon as possible. A good and quick diagnosis is useless however, if treatment does not take place quickly. The SRK Therapy Centre in Buchs, with branches in Mels and Altstätten in Switzerland, treats infants, children and adolescents with different diagnoses and degrees of disabilities as part of general early intervention. The therapy is funded through disability insurance, medical insurance and school communities. Due to cost cutting measures in healthcare, it is increasingly difficult to find a benefactor for all children. Because of this, a fund was established for children and adolescents who do not have the appropriate cover. The fund is maintained by membership fees and donations to support these children, and to enable them to receive therapy.

Project Goals

The goal is to support children and adolescents without insurance or cover. With the contribution from the Lyoness Child & Family Foundation they should all be able to receive treatment in the area of general early intervention from the SRK Therapy Centre. The range of therapy offered by the SRK Therapy Centre includes all areas of physiotherapy, occupational therapy, psychomotor therapy, speech therapy and special early childhood education.
