Cooperation project between the Lyoness Child & Family Europe Association and Asociaţia Tineretului Român Unit (ASTRU) Cluj

Project Description

Dăbâca is a small village close to Cluj-Napoca and has a high percentage of socially disadvantaged families. The local children and teenagers have little opportunity to meet up or spend their free time doing things together.
This is why the ‟Asociaţia Tineretului Român Unit” (ASTRU) has set up the ASTRU House for Children. In this building children and teenagers of various ages have the opportunity to meet up and study, or to plan activities together with the support from the supervisors.

The organisation currently uses a building with 2-rooms, which are in very bad condition and has no toilet. So far, minor renovation work has been done in one of the rooms. With the support of the Lyoness Child & Family Europe Association the second room of the ASTRU House For Children can now be renovated and furnished. In addition, sanitary facilities will be provided.

Project Goals

The project aims at renovating and furnishing the ASTRU House For Children. The building needs new windows, doors and roof tiles; the walls need to be painted. Furthermore, new furniture including carpets, lighting and learning material will be acquired.

In addition, sanitary facilities which have not been available up to now will be provided for children and employees.
