A cooperation between the Lyoness Child & Family Foundation Association and theYouth & Family Centre Barnardos in Clonmel.
Barnardos is one of the largest social organizations for disadvantaged children and families in Ireland. There are already 40 centres spread all over the country, which have set themselves the goal of closing the gap of educational deficits of disadvantaged children and families and to actively combat child poverty. 2012 figures show that already 113,720 children – this is one in ten children in Ireland – are affected by sustainable poverty.
One of the facilities is located in Clonmel. It has taken care of many children and families for years, but due to the financial situation and the limited budget it has not been possible within the last six years to improve some of the infrastructure, for example to paint some walls in bright colours. For this reason, Lyoness Ireland, together with the Lyoness Child & Family Foundation Association and some Lyoness loyalty merchants and partners decided to embellish some walls of the building, both inside and outside, and to provide a more comfortable and happier environment for the children and families.
We thank all the helpers, such as the local artist, who managed the painting work, the Lyoness loyalty merchants and partners. It was a wonderful day for all involved and both the employees and visitors of the centre were thrilled with the artwork. We hope the result will brighten the days of those who are cared for at the centre and of those who work there and we wish them all the best.
We thank in particular the Lyoness loyalty merchants and partners:
• Bob Fitzgerals
• Larry O’Keeffe Furniture
• Hickey’s Bakery
• Tangled Yarns
• My Culture Café
• Town House Deli
• Befani’s Restaurant & Townhouse
• The Honey Pot
The aim of this activity was to enhance the appearance of the Youth & Family Centre Barnardos and to embellish some walls of the building, both inside and outside, and to provide a more comfortable and happier environment for the children and families.
