A project cooperation between Lyoness Germany and the Lyoness Child & Family Foundation Association.

Project Description

There are over 115 children and adolescents currently living in the Caritas Children's Village Irschenberg. The Caritas Children's Village Irschenberg is a charitable establishment of the Caritas organisation of the Archdiocese of Munich and Freising e.V., one of the most powerful providers of social services in Bavaria. These children and adolescents are not orphans, but they come from families where the parents are unable to cope with their upbringing and education.

The Children's Village offers the children and adolescents psychological help and a child-friendly, loving atmosphere with a structured daily routine. The Children's Village Irschenberg has also been working on preventing domestic abuse over the last few years. The social workers work closely together with the whole family, to help defuse domestic situations and to counteract them before they escalate and get out of hand.

The Children's Village depends on donations and some advanced education activities cannot be carried out on a regular basis. New musical instruments, such as electric pianos were desperately needed to enable the children to have music lessons. It was also not possible to offer the children and the teachers IT courses, due to the lack of funds. This prompted Lyoness Child & Family Foundation Association to provide assistance to the children and adolescents at the Children's Village Irschenberg by providing them with the opportunity to discover and develop their musical talents. The required musical instruments (3 new electric pianos) were provided to enable more of the children to take piano lessons. Training was also provided, which focused on the internet. This training taught the children and the teachers how to use the internet safely and responsibly.

The ceremonial handover of the electric pianos took place on the 2nd October in Irschenberg and the entire Children's Village was overjoyed. The internet training "Klicksalat" was held on the 7th and 8th of October.

Project Goals

The aim of this project was to enable the children and adolescents from the Children's Village Irschenberg to discover and develop their musical talents, by providing them with the required musical instruments (3 electric pianos). This provides the opportunity for more children to take piano lessons. Training was also provided, which focused on the internet. This training taught the children and the teachers how to use the internet safely and responsibly.
