On 07.08.2016 Skopje, the capital city of Macedonia, was hit by a severe storm and heavy rain. In several suburbs, the flood rose to one and a half metres and took the lives of at least 20 people. In just a short amount of time the torrent of water caused vast damages. Numerous families in Skopje and its surrounding regions were forced to leave their homes.
Deeply affected by the scale of destruction and the people's suffering due to the loss of their homes, the Lyoness Child & Family Foundation and Lyoness Macedonia decided to help.
Desperately needed household devices, such as washing machines, refrigerators and electronic cookers were purchased for six families who had been strongly affected by the storm, thereby granting these families a speedy return to their homes and daily lives. In October, the last relief supplies were handed out to the families.
On behalf of the affected families we would like to thank all supports from the CFF Community as well as Lyoness Macedonia and we hope to continue providing help to those who require immediate aid.
The aim of this project was to help six families from the region surrounding Skopje, who were particularly affected by the storm on 07.08.2016. Much needed household appliances, as well as washing machines, refrigerators, and electronic cookers were purchased in order to offer these families a swift return to their familiar surroundings.
