A special day for immigrant families in Toronto

Thanks to this year’s Angel for a Day event in Canada on 17th November, some recently assimilated immigrant children and their families got the opportunity to see the film “Robin Hood” before it came out in the cinemas. They were invited to the premiere by a local Toronto school with a view to bringing some positivity and excitement to their lives.

Ernest Public School is one of Toronto’s leading immigrant schools. 95% of its students are new Canadians, mostly refugees with a large cohort from Nigeria and Syria.

The film premiere was made possible by the CFF and the myWorld Canada community, in partnership with Entertainment One. Thanks to them, the families were able to enjoy something special that they have never experienced before.
