The happiness of 12 children with autism grew up on the back of horses in the spring of 2022. Thanks to the Child & Family Foundation and its project partners, they were able with great success to take advantage of special hippotherapy.
Horseback riding is a popular form of therapy when it comes to alleviating autistic disorders. Already in 2019, the Child & Family Foundation in Montenegro, together with myWorld Montenegro and the S.K.K. Budućnost in Podgorica - a nationally renowned stud farm - launched a project to offer equine therapy to children with autism. The enthusiasm of the children was so great that this project entered its second round in the spring of 2022.
This time, thanks to the support of the Child & Family Foundation and MyWorld Montenegro, from the beginning of April to the end of May, twelve children in need, who are cared by various social institutions, were able to complete 10 riding sessions of 30-minute each. In addition to the 120 therapy sessions, the project partners also covered the personnel costs for a riding instructor, a psychologist and a physiotherapist.
As was the case three years ago, the special horse therapy led to considerable therapeutic successes for the children: sense of balance, coordination and motor skills were trained, sensory, perception and psyche of the girls and boys were stimulated. Equally beautiful was to observe how the children gained gradually balance and inner peace.

Continuously supporting schools in their operation is just as well part of our work as is the construction and improvement of school infrastructure. Creating access to a secure educational environment free of charge in poor regions with comparatively high educational costs and inadequate public facilities is our goal.
