Project visit organised to perform inventory at Holy Trinity School

Our Project Managers visit our educational project bases at regular intervals.

Martina and Alejandro travelled to Nigeria to have a chat with Holy Trinity School's headmaster, Frederick Akhelumele, about current project progress and to discuss the necessary steps for the future.

Millions of people go hungry on a daily basis in Nigeria and the drinking water supply is unreliable.  The terrorist organisation, Boko Haram, is tearing across the country, striking fear into the hearts of the people, and human trafficking is at large.  In Uromi, a city located in the south of the country, people are confronted with problems on a daily basis.  However, there is hope for the younger generation thanks to the untiring efforts of the Holy Trinity School: They are trying to offer children future prospects and a safe haven, in cooperation with the Child & Family Foundation.

We have been supporting the Holy Trinity School with their magnanimous projects for years now. To get an overview of what's going on on-site, Martina and Alejandro visited the school and its founder and project initiator, Frederick Akhumele, in Uromi.  The two of them made use of their five-day stay to discuss several different topics with the headmaster.  The talks revolved, first and foremost, around the creation of the school budget and how the renovations to the school building are coming along.  The school was badly in need of some repairs and a new coat of paint.  They also discussed the installation of a generator and the expansion of the computer rooms as well as measures to be implemented during lessons with the help of the Internet.  In addition, they were able to examine the school's wells which were built from scratch by the Greenfinity Foundation.

Not only the headmaster was pleased to receive the guests.  The teaching staff and the pupils were keen to meet Martina and Alejandro. They used the opportunity to introduce the teaching staff to the guests. The teaching staff were very enthusiastic during lessons – the perfect way to prepare children and teenagers for later life.
