Not a normal year...

2020 started out like every other year. The pupils and teachers, enthusiastic and full of energy, kicked off the new school term with a bang.

After the winter holidays and a long school break, January heralded the customary preparations for the new school year: screening new candidates for pre-school, buying school materials, cleaning the classrooms, etc. The school's headmistress, Claudia, and the local CFF project manager, Barbara, began to plan the lesson plans and school timetable, particularly the ceremonial opening of the new 8th Grade with new 30 students.

So, on 1st February, the new school year began with 220 students in their brand-new uniforms: the pre-school and 8 Grades. The 7th and 8th Grades held their classes during the afternoon. The CFF donated also new backpacks full of learning resources to the pre-school children.

The school celebrated Friendship Day on 14th February and everyone came dressed in red, pink and white. Each student was asked to bring food from home with them to share and, at the end of the day, they all watched a film in the dining room. Sadly, this was the first and last celebration to be held this year before all classes were cancelled in Honduras.
